LOST RECAP...WHAT I GOT out of STRANGER IN A STRANGE LAND S03EP09

Hey everyone,

Now, last night was the first time Vanessa and I watched Lost with Lost fans. We watched Seasons 1 and 2 last summer, got into Season 3 from the beginning. But no one we know around here watches the show, but those who kind of got into it later in the game, don’t watch since they want to start from the beginning. Last night, major geek sci-fi fanatic Jim DeSantis and his sister Stacy came by and hit up 42 minutes of DVR action on LOST. FANTASTIC! They told us that in the preview from last week for this episode, 3 SECRETS will be REVEALED. Now do we guess?

Let’s start with the RECAPS and PREDICTIONS:
“STRANGER IN A STRANGE LAND” (the name is huge by the way!)

THE 3 SECRETS from this EPISODE:
1) The Tattoo. (was this a secret? 5 and the Stars though, more secrets)
2) Cindy and the kids (finally)
3) You tell me! Maybe it’s that Bai Ling can’t act, but we knew that already.

TOM:
You see this glass house you are living in? How about I get you some stones!” – Yes, we know Jack has a past, but since my last post about the word “good”, are we finding out he’s bad. Who told Tom he’s bad? Where are you Christian? I feel in this episode we didn’t see the glass house that Jack lives in, but we will. With Sarah, Dad, etc.
(Side Story) – STONES?!?!!? YOU MEAN THE ONES IN JACK’S POCKET THAT HE FOUND IN THE CAVE? You want those back Tom? Adam and Eve’s stones?

CINDY:
“We’re here to watch Jack?” Jack knows nothing of Room 23, which the kids and the other people (tailenders?) are watching. They all had that weird Karl expression on their faces. But! Why were they by Jack’s cage? It looked like some Alcoholics Anonymous cigarette break. So, Jack thinks Cindy is part of the whole experiment. She’s not, they’re part of “THE EXPERIMENT” and Room 23 may also be other rooms so everyone can be brainwashed.

WATCHERS:
Something I was thinking about. Their there to watch? What about this watching? When you look around the island there are some people watching. More to look into in another blog, VERY SOON!

JACK’S TATTOO:
The Chinese we will get into, BUT, what about the 5 and the Stars over the Chinese writing. Jack’s tattoo "He walks amongst us but He is not one of us" is the Ying to Juliet’s Yang marking that has the Scarlet Letter appeal, “You are no longer one of us, but you will always be one of us.” (more…)

JACK’S TICKET OFF THE ISLAND:
Well, Jack, ya big dummy! You just gave your word to Ben, and he gave you HIS! Jack got his ticket off the island, but it’s not going back to his friends. Nope! Maybe, just maybe the Others ARE the “good” people, ‘cause Jack, you are becoming an Other.

ARCHA:
“You are a LEADER, A GREAT man, but this makes you lonely, indifferent, and angry.” This could be huge, but don’t look TOO MUCH into it. Let the tattoo’s and everyone else who understands them explain it to us. What Archa said is nothing we didn’t know already, and the way he treats Archa in that scene, we have seen before. Also, she sees who people are. Like when she saw him on the island for the first time and says “You are not from around here”, meaning, she sees more inside Jack, not just some white guy on the beaches of Thailand.

“THERE WILL BE CONSEQUENCES JACK!”
Oh man! She didn’t mean with the kid on the beach selling Cokes and getting the shit beaten out of you by her brother and pals. It means she knows more, like when Jack’s sister, I mean Claire went to see Richard Malkin, the psychic saw more.

BEN:
Ben has Juliet “marked” meaning she is now banished from the island. I feel. Does this break Ben’s heart? No, not really, they HAD history, but when you see that “picture postcard” moment on the beach with the umbrella over Ben as they are about to cast off to the BIG BOAT. Ben smiles. Gives an “I love and thank you” smile to Jack? No not Jack, but Isabel, I’m thinking, who is standing next to Jack. But it could also be Ben’s emotions are coming out and he smiles because his scheme is finally working. Jack is becoming one of them, BUT not if Juliet can help it. Let’s not forget the first face we see in Season 3, Juliet’s, wiping tears from her face, and listening to Downtown, thinking about getting away. Get away! But, I really like the connection between Juliet and Jack.

JACK and JULIET:
Great great great connection between these two. He covers for her when she showed him the video asking to kill Ben, when Isabel asked. He saves her from being executed, but to be banished. She brings him the grilled food, with the “toothpicks.” GREAT connection between the two, and they will start to give into each other very very soon.

JIM and STACY:
What I really liked about watching the show with Jim and Stacy, whom I have to THANK big time for discussing and make it so much fun, was a question was brought up. What’s the BLACK SMOKE? Anyone, anyone? I have a HUGE suspicion we will be seeing the Black Smoke or Vincent VERY SOON. Claire or Charlie? Who will Vincent kill? Who will Vincent steer away to kill one or the other?
